Hi everyone,
Sorry I am still learning Danish. I am an international student from the U.S. going to University of Copenhagen. I just got my fishing licence this week.  I was hoping to get some good local advise on freshwater fishing spots near Copenhagen. I have a break down travel rod and reel that I bicycle in with from Copenhagen. I am looking at places that I can reach within about 1.5 hours (or less) cycling time from Copenhagen. Any suggestions or advise? I see a lot of small bodies of water in google maps but its hard to find information.

I would consider fishing the harbour instead. Morning and evening fish for cod near the bottom or pelagic for trout. Garfish will arrive within an month and can be caught all day with spin fishing or with small pieces of herring under a float.

And is it possible for you to use the public transportation?

Hi Frederik, Thanks for the reply. Which harbor? Is there a particularly good area for those casting from shore? I am actually very interested in trying to catch some Garfish.

Hey Nick, I am not interested in the "Put and Take" lakes. The concept looks interesting though, but I don't think its for me. Yes I can use public transport or even rent a car. But as a student I am on a pretty tight budget, so bicycle is best. However, I can ride a fairly long distance.For example, I road to Roskilde and back from Copenhagen but that took a while with the head winds.

Here in the capital region, we have two large groups, where the affiliated associations' members have free access to a lot of common fishing waters.

Thanks a lot for the links, they look very good! I will check them all out!

Lastly, I found small ponds north about 1 hour by bicycle, "Skodsborg dam" "stamped dam" "Bøllemosen" and some others. Anyone fished these or have herd anything negative or positive about them? They appear to be open to the public for fishing.
